Adventure vacations in Canada

St. Lawrence Ride

Overview

Horseback riding in Quebec allows you to explore rural country and follow logging roads made over 200 years ago, which now lead to little villages tucked away in the forest. This area has much history, as it was the second permanent settlement founded in what was then “New France” in the 1600s.  Discover the natural beauty of your farmhouse surroundings, and the peace of a cabin deep in the woods. This is not a luxurious trip, but basic and rustic. The food is good and the hospitality is warm with merry evenings complete guitar playing and songs. Experience western riding on well-trained mounts and try your hand at working cattle. This Canadian holiday in will allow you to experience the best that riding in Quebec has to offer.

You will be staying in a farmhouse and a cabin. Both have four to five rooms that can accommodate two or four people, and are equipped with platform beds or bunk beds with foam mattresses and pillows with cases. There are a few double beds. Typically you will be sharing a room with one other participant.

The meals feature home-cooked traditional dishes of the area. Breakfast is eaten at the cabin each morning and lunch is usually a picnic which consists of a sandwich you make each morning. One day you stop at restaurant for lunch. Dinner typically consists of a salad, fresh breads, chicken, beef or pastas and dessert.
